What is a Medical Guide and
Why You Should Have One…
As a Medical Guide, it is not my role to medically treat people but rather to advise, reassure and guide them in making the best choices for their optimal health as they move through the complex maze of medicine.
As you can see below, my skills, background and experience make me uniquely and ideally suited for this role.
Medical Guide – 40 years
Board Certified Emergency Medicine Specialist – 30 years
Creator and Director of a hospital-based integrative medicine program
Co-host of Magical Medical Tour, a nominated internet television program, since 2012
When would someone use my Medical Guide Services?
- I step in when individuals have medical issues and are unclear about how to proceed. Often, people are not given enough time with their doctors to get all the essential information that will enable them to review all their options. As a Medical Guide, I provide that extra time and necessary advice so that they can move forward with their care.
- Medicine is very complex and can be confusing, so I bring clarity and perspective to assist people in making medical decisions and choices that are best for them.
- I advise and guide people when they have an undiagnosed medical problem.
- I advise and guide people when there IS a diagnosed medical problem and they want to learn all their best options so they can attain optimal health again.
- Frustration and uncertainty can stand in the way of a person knowing how to proceed in regaining optimal health. I support people and guide them to a deeper understanding of their issues and all of the choices they have.
- I serve people by addressing their issues from the Holistic Medical perspective.
- As a Medical Guide, I help people to make the best choices on selecting doctors, hospitals and a treatment plan.

In confronting a medical challenge, it is very helpful to have an expert on your side, advising you on how to best prepare your mind, body, and spirit to position yourself to achieve the best possible outcome. Dr. Wollman provided excellent advice on how to approach my cancer diagnosis, treatment, surgery, and post-surgical chemotherapy, and how to specifically prepare for all stages of the process. His advice was instrumental to maintaining a positive outlook throughout my experience.

Glenn Wollman provided the mix that I sought. In his role of Medical Guide he was able to bridge my conflict with many Western medical practitioners; heard and understood my need to be active in my health care decisions; and worked with me to develop a personal counter-balance to a smattering of anxieties that surfaced during our meetings.

He has taken it upon himself to construct a counter-balance to life’s anxiety axis combining unique and effective elements of many cultures into a powerful relaxing force that brings about changes you would least expect.

Dr. Glenn Wollman has actively participated in medical issues that surround my life. He has always been responsive and timely. But, more than that, he has acted as a partner, regardless of my condition or circumstances. He has taken the time to comprehend my needs, both physically and spiritually. My relationship with Dr. Wollman goes well beyond physician-patient. Seeking the best in advice and treatment, Dr. Wollman has proven himself time and time again.
“As a colleague of Dr. Glenn Wollman, I enthusiastically recommend this very special man as a medical guide and facilitator.
With the world of medicine changing so rapidly, we need increasing guidance in finding and selecting the best direction for our health and well-being. Dr. Wollman’s holistic understanding, combined with his intuition, draws from years of study of all levels of healing. Using his scientific medical knowledge as his background, he readily perceives, and guides, the direction that is best for his patients. He is the forerunner of this unique aspect of “medical guide”.
Trust is the single most important factor in a physician/patient relationship – this is easy to have with Dr. Wollman.Herbert M. Janklow, MD
Dr. Glenn Wollman helped my family and me through a very difficult time. I was diagnosed a year ago with Behcet’s Syndrome, a very rare auto-immune disease. This was after being mis-diagnosed and treated for Lupus for 9 months prior to that. In June 2013, I was very sick and getting sicker every day. The disease was attacking my colon and intestines, and the local doctors in my hometown of Fresno had run out of answers. I was transferred to Cedars-Sinai to be seen by one of the top auto-immune specialists in the country.
This is also where Dr. Wollman came in. Dealing with many doctors through several operations and a few close calls, Glenn was able to tie everything together and communicate to my family and me what was going on in plain English. He had access to my medical file as it grew thicker by the day, and was able to answer questions from several members of my family as they arose. He also acted as my advocate, making sure all the care providers involved were giving the best care possible.
He was especially helpful seeing my wife through the whole process. She had a difficult time dealing with the whole process, and Glenn was as much help for her as he was for me. He was always accessible by phone when a problem or question came up, and was always, without a single exception, positive and upbeat. He also shared with me his own inspiring story of the medical challenges he’s been through himself, which is no doubt the source of his tremendous empathy. Anyone facing a challenging health issue would benefit by having Glenn Wollman on the team.

When a very dear friend of mine fell desperately ill I was fortunate enough to know that Dr. Glenn was in the business of helping people through tough medical situations. I am very comfortable in stating that without Dr. Glenn’s vigilant, intelligent and compassionate guidance the outcome would have been very different and most likely terminal.
Glenn was not only their for the patient, he was a mentor and confidant of each and every person involved. His kindness combined with his common sense (something not so common in these situations) was appreciated and essential. In the confusing and frustrating world of modern medicine he was a god send. Frustration and anxiety are your constant companion and I witnessed Glenn’s magical calming influence bring peace and calm to what otherwise would have been a hopeless situation or feeling.
Who are we to question a doctors decision or nurse or even the nurse’s assistant. Some of them appear to know very little but the fact is it is still more than most of us. In these situations it is essential to have a trusted voice to answer your questions and most importantly question the medical staffs decisions. Dr. Glenn enabled the family support team to make a difference.
His authority and commonality with the medical staff was enabling, his knowledge facilitated better, more focused treatments, his perspective provided hope and patients when both were sparse. Without this advice, knowledge and leadership it would have been devastating for both the patient and the family.
I would highly recommend Dr. Glenn to any family that has a medical situation, especially if it required long term recuperation and care from multiple doctors.
Sincerely
Mick
Thank you again and again.
No one should be without a Medical Guide when you are or know a seriously ill person! And patient and proactive Glenn was ours. Glenn always had time for us. His expertise was that he talked to us and listened to the family’s concerns as we occasionally saw, heard or felt differently about what was happening. I believe our input made it possible for Glenn to see the family dynamics so he could, and did, make comments and suggestions to help us all cope and help in Don’s (my son in law) recovery. Glenn was immeasurably helpful for Don. He knew how to get Don to share his feelings (not an easy thing to do when Don was really, really sick) and he gave Don invaluable information on what to do to help in his own care (like drinking the dreaded cocktail) and recovery. Glenn provided the very important service of being Don’s advocate as he kept contact with Don’s doctors and the hospital. Along with Don’s team of doctors, Glenn was definitely a plus factor in helping Don on his road to wellness.
Personally, your availability and information meant the world to me.

Whenever I have even a tiny anxiety moment, I think of Dr. Glenn and do his four-square breathing. Glenn, with his calm and beneficence, helped me grapple with my fear of doctors and chemotherapy and death, and to face the music. What does that metaphor mean, “to face the music?” To me, it means to look into the eye of the storm that’s playing, listen hard, contemplate your options, remember your blessings, forget your failings, let go of pride, and look for the joy. All that. Glenn, with his huge knowledge and great tact, led me through my denial and insecurity into making a medical plan, and I followed through with it.
I have recently had the best of good news and I exult in the life ahead for me with family and friends and new ventures. I will try to live it from Dr. Glenn’s perspective….uncover your options, meditate, make a resonating choice, breathe/ eat /exercise well, and look for the joy.
Muchisimas gracias, Estimado Senor Doctor!

Glenn,
I want to let you know sincerely and importantly how much I appreciate and value your inclusion into my life… I am all the better for it… and getting better each and every day! Four Square, Sleep Suite, Attention & Intention, meditations… Not a day goes by without your influences on me helping to make me healthier, stronger, and even more alert to “the path with heart.”
Thank you Glenn… from my heart, mind, & soul,

Dr. Glenn Wollman is the physician everyone dreams of having in their life. He possesses a rare combination of tremendous knowledge, deep wisdom, heart-felt concern and the ability to communicate all these with clarity, patience and precision. I have never felt so guided, supported and soothed by a doctor as I do when I am speaking with Dr. Wollman, and this in itself is truly healing.

Before working with Dr. Glenn Wollman on personal healthcare issues, I often wondered what it would be like to receive care from a highly qualified physician who also understood the critical importance of treating/healing the whole person– body, mind, heart and spirit. After decades of health issues, I had never once stumbled upon a doctor who responded to the human side of healing while not compromising his/her professional expertise.
Working with Dr. Wollman has comforted my fear of, and renewed my faith in the medical profession. He is available, listens carefully, asks the right questions in a sensitive manner, and then proceeds to offer, in highly comprehensible (but never patronizing) terms, an informed diagnosis as well as a number of alternative possibilities for approaching the problem.
His suggestions take into account the attitudes and disposition of the client; he understands that healing is affected by the state of mind and readiness of the ailing person, and that the client must ultimately understand and participate in his/her own wellness. All modes of healing capacities, in a balanced interaction between Dr. Wollman’s proficiency and the client’s needs, are explored.
“Compassionate” and “skillful” are the key words. I am deeply appreciative of the warmth and support I have received from Dr. Wollman in times of vulnerability and suffering. While this should be the prime agenda of the healthcare profession, it is ironic that a patient would feel so blessed to encounter a physician who still considers this his oath.

It’s so difficult to summarize you into a single sentence, this is just one of the many feelings i have about your practice. Dr. Wollman has mastered the balance between eastern healing and western medicine. (You can also add my phone number if somebody wants to talk more in depth).
